A family visit to London to see the arts: the Tusk Lion Trail, The National Gallery open air exhibition and NMT Automatics play 'Tempus Fugit' at the Union Theatre. What happens? We head to Covent Garden to discover our first lion only to find the Apple store. 'I'm not buying anything; I'll look but my notebook and pen are fine.’

'I don't need a new phone! ‘ One hour later I walk out with an iPad Pro. It is going to revolutionise my life. I was in Edinburgh for Army@The Fringe where I carried 2 x laptops, a diary (that is not going electronic just yet) and 6 x A5 notebooks. I have been a bit funny about having a different project in a different notebook. So the poor chap in the Apple store had an interrogation from a Luddite. He was very kind and told my daughter to be kind as he had had people her age in who didn't know they could get emails on their phones, even I know that! Here I am with my new iPad, writing my blogs with the pencil that will convert into text that I can then put in order into a notebook. I am inspired! Having resisted on the belief that some super power is watching me, I now realise we are all being watched so I need to get over it. l often wonder if I would have been in 'the world's flat' team or bandaging my boobs to jump aboard ship!

This sunflower is nothing to do with buying an iPad but it remains my link to nature!
